360 vs Elite 360 (Component VS HDMI)

Ok Here is the thing I have a Philips TV that can do 1080p through component, Should I trade my 360 in and get the elite so I can have HDMI. Anyone that has seen both is their a big difference. The only reason I would be trading in is to get HDMI. So any help would be great.

Bottom line does the 360 elite with HDMI 1080p Look better than regular 360 through component 1080p.
    Thanks

component. His face is dark and you miss the glint in his eye.

HDMI. Look at the dark side of his face. The differences are hard to see on a photo, but if you tilt your monitor down, you can see the extra detail here

I was under the impression that dvd players and video game consoles can't push 1080p over component due to legal issues...you're better off with the HDMI (or using the VGA cables, that's the other way to get the 360 to upconvert DVD's)

not if your tv can do 1080p over component.

Heelfan you know your sh**, I also have a vizio 37" that does 1080p, its not true 1080p its max res is like 1368 * 768 but what it does is accept a 1080p signal and down converts it. Ok that tv has VGA should I just go with a VGA cable instead of getting the Elite just for HDMI. And by the way the component signal on 1080p looks great I just want better............

I would stick with how it is now. You aren't going to get a better picture. than what you have now.
