Hey fishepa, as I suggested earlier, do you think there is some sort of way that OS can get these trophy images up linkable with the PlayStation icon like we can do with 360 Live? I don't know what it requires you to do or if Sony has to do something on their end to help you, but I was just wondering if this was possible.

Well, the URL for the portable ID card is just:

http://fp.profiles.us.playstation.com/playstation/psn/pid/[PSN ID].png

So I'd imagine it's doable to code it in on here.

It should be if I was able to set it up on my less powerful zetaboards.

I see what you did there, but what I mean is how it's done just like the 360 Live ones here. Like you click on the icon, and a little image displays right next to it. The image isn't there from the start, a new page/window doesn't open for the image... it just appears, just like the Live ones.

I just didn't know if this was maybe something that was only possible because Microsoft maybe has something else on their end that allows this on any site, or if this can be done now that we have these simple images? Because I don't have Xbox Live, but doesn't it automatically become linkable as soon as you post your gamertag? I was maybe thinking that Sony would have to make this happen with PSN or something.

Yeah, I don't know if it could be quite as elegant as how Xbox Live is set up on here, but with a little coding trickery, it should be able to work so that the image pops up when the PlayStation icon is clicked.

It's you. They maybe could use a few tweaks in the design but they are a long way from "horrible."

Yeah, it's not too bad. One thing I would like to see is how the xbox cards have the last 4 or so games everyone has played. I think that's neat.

wow i suck at getting trophies i can't hang with all you really hard core gamers. guess i will start paying more attention to it now and try to get some.

are we allowed to put these id's in our sig. or is that a no no on OS, i don't remember?

Sony threw a little notice up on their support site overnight, letting everyone know that the PlayStation Network will be down for a couple of hours on August 18. Say, isn't that the day of Sony's GamesCom press conference?

The outage is expected to commence at 9am PST, August 18 in the US, which in Germany is 6pm on August 18. Say, isn't that the exact time Sony's Gamescom press conference kicks off?

My, it is.

There have been countless rumours of major new additions being made to the PSN in the coming months; looks like we could well be seeing the first of those tomorrow.
