Re: Playstation Network and Discussion Part Deux
Danger Joe looks fun as hell!I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

I'm still waiting for this to drop.
Hustle Kings hands-on
December 8, 2009 - For years videogame fans have begged and pleaded for a game that simulates the feeling of a tapered wooden shaft sliding through their outstretched hands. Sony and VooFoo Studios have put an end to this drought with Hustle Kings, a downloadable pool game that'll bring the gentleman's sport to the PSN this winter.
Hustle Kings is a straightforward game version of pool with two simple control methods. In the default method, you'll aim left and right with the left analog stick. You can aim your cue with the right analog stick, hitting the cue ball low, high, or angled to the left or right for spin and trick shots. There's a power meter on the left-hand side of the screen that limits how hard you'll hit the ball before you start your shot. Hitting the X button starts a circular meter like what you might be familiar with from golfing games of yore. Hit the X button a second time when the little cursor is lined up with the right spot and you'll hit a perfectly accurate shot.
Mistime things and the accuracy of your shot will drop accordingly. After each shot you'll see an accuracy percentage appear to let you know how close you were. In the alternate control scheme, you'll hit the X button to enter shoot mode, then pull back and press forward on the left analog to complete your shot. I found this control setup a little more interesting as it mimics the real life motion of pool. Using the default control scheme felt pretty difficult with the sweet spot on the swing meter no bigger than a few pixels and the speed of the cursor surprisingly fast and hard to predict.
While the setup might be familiar, VooFoo has done a great job of designing modes and features to give Hustle Kings a surprising amount of content for a downloadable game. There's a training mode, a career mode, online play supporting up to 16 players, Tournament mode, and an array of trick shot challenges. If you're a pool aficionado there are a lot of variants to play with here.
Hustle Kings also has a good variety of different rules to help break up the monotony. You'll be able to play US 8-Ball, 9-Ball, Black Ball, Killer, Cutthroat, 14.1 Continuous, and 3-Ball. There is also a sampling of Bonus Games with which to test your skills. Here you'll be asked to clear a table in a certain amount of time, or clear a table in a particular order.
Hustle Kings also features some dandy cartoon avatars to give the competition a little flair. You'll be able to play in a small but exotic variety of settings from a neon-lit highrise to a dingy basement club. There's not too much to the visuals in Hustle King, but the balls and table all look realistic, with nice lighting effects on the balls as they roll across the table. The avatars and backdrops are a little more exaggerated, but still quite colorful and easy on the eyes. Trophy hunters will also have 11 new prizes to claim in Hustle Kings, though I wasn't able to see what each would require.
Pool games aren't the most glamorous of titles, but Hustle Kings looks like as complete a package as you could ask for in a downloadable game. It's got a great variety of modes, a lot of side challenges, some bonus games, 16 player online support, and Trophies. The gameplay isn't going to blow your mind. You aim your cue at the right ball and shoot it into a pocket. If that sounds like a good time to you, Hustle Kings might be a happy little winter surprise.
Sony wasn't sure of the Hustle Kings release date, but it could arrive before the year's end.XBL: DTX3

Re: Playstation Network and Discussion Part Deux
- ZEN Pinball
- Fat Princess
- Rag Doll Kung Fu
But I'm sure a lot of PixelJunk and whatever other fans will say something different. These were my best, most long-lasting experiences. If you have three other friends though that loved TMNT in the past, I'd say that would be a good game to look at as well (Re-Shelled, that is).Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: Playstation Network and Discussion Part Deux
Thanks mate. I would also like to get some sort of puzzle game as well, any recommendations? IGN said Critter Crunch was the best puzzle game of 09 but i'm not sure if its my cup of tea.
TMNT sounds great as i used to love the arcade game back in the day.Comment

Re: Playstation Network and Discussion Part Deux
I never played Critter Crunch, but if Ratchet & Clank counts as a "puzzle" game, they have Quest for Booty available. I got it when it was $9.99, not sure if they have that sale now still. The game is rather short though, I must warn you.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment
