Re: Playstation Network and Discussion Part Deux
Does it repeat questions often or something?
For that matter, which quiz game show do you think probably has the largest set of questions? I'm surprised with the BD's capacity that they don't just stick in hundreds of thousands of questions, if not millions.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: Playstation Network and Discussion Part Deux
Buzz, no question LOL (no pun intended) 5000 plus questions plus DLC. And to add it's the most fun as well. I play with the wife and kids often and we have a blast. I took it over to my wifes familiy Christmas and with my brother-in-laws 4 buzz controllers and mine, we got in 8 player games. It also supports the PSeye. I got some great pics of the whole fam damily.
Gonna pick up the new one sometime this week.Last edited by Chef Matt; 12-28-2009, 10:51 AM.Originally posted by Anthony BourdainThe celebrity chef culture is a remarkable and admittedly annoying phenomenon. Re: Playstation Network and Discussion Part Deux
Millions? They'd have to have a gigantic staff of question writers and it would take the voiceover guy 10 years to read through them all.
Chefdad, how does the 8-player Buzz work? Do you need one or two of the USB wireless receivers? Is the game just the same as the 4-player version?Ryan Spencer

Re: Playstation Network and Discussion Part Deux
I actually didn't know there was a voice for it. I was probably thinking more along the lines of Jeopardy, since they literally do have a huge database of questions (hopefully somehow archived) and they don't use Trebek as is.
I'll just put it this way... the instant there's a repeat question, the game's value is lessened tenfold.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: Playstation Network and Discussion Part Deux
I agree about repeating questions being the death of any trivia game. I think it would be easier in a Jeopardy! game because there is no audio with the questions and they should have like 20+ years worth of questions stored as you mentioned.I actually didn't know there was a voice for it. Buzz actually has a narrator read the questions, and in one of the rounds the format uses photos. They've done a great job cranking out DLC for it and I haven't seen a repeated question yet. Plus, there is a way to play user-created quizzes (no audio or photos, obviously) which extends the life of this game even further.Ryan Spencer

Re: Playstation Network and Discussion Part Deux
Yes two receivers. It works really really well. The bad thing though i noticed is the new slim only has two USB ports. So in order to have both receivers and the PSeye I had to run home and get my USB multi out adapter.Millions? In buzz 1 8 player is a watered down version of 4 player with only 3 rounds. In the new Buzz though it is just like playing 4 player with all the rounds included. You can also now play 8 player online which sounds pretty cool.Originally posted by Anthony BourdainThe celebrity chef culture is a remarkable and admittedly annoying phenomenon. Re: Playstation Network and Discussion Part Deux
What is the PSeye used for? I have a PS2 Eyetoy I bought for $3 used at Gamestop, would that work?
Does the new Buzz come with buzzers or do the original Buzz controllers work with it?
Sorry for the game of 20 Questions!

Re: Playstation Network and Discussion Part Deux
Nah man it's all good.
The eye is only used to take photos of everyone between rounds. it's kinda fun for everyone to see themselves on screen making goofy gestures as required by Buzz himself lol.
I'm not sure but I imagine the eyetoy would work considering it works with just about everything else. It only is used a camera in this case.
The original buzzers work. I'm going to buy the game by itself at target for 39.99 and just use the buzzers I already have. I was contemplating getting the whole package but we only really play 8 player during Christmas and my
B-I-L has a set.Last edited by Chef Matt; 12-28-2009, 12:00 PM.Originally posted by Anthony BourdainThe celebrity chef culture is a remarkable and admittedly annoying phenomenon. Re: Playstation Network and Discussion Part Deux
It's great let me tell you. Even the whole watered down version that is 8 player in Buzz1. We have a huge family of ALL ages and everyone was together having a great time. One of the few times where something can hold the attention span of the kids and adults at the same time! And oh, some of the pictures, hilarious!Originally posted by Anthony BourdainThe celebrity chef culture is a remarkable and admittedly annoying phenomenon.
