Someone stated they would have grabbed the new batman game at $30 from Amazon but missed the chance during the goldbox day. This is your chance to grab them now as Amazon has put the game back down to $30.

My PS3 froze, so I hold the reset button on the console and when the system restarted it asked me if I wanted to notify Sony of the issue so I clicked yes. It looked like it was sending info to them. Has anyone ever seen this before?

ok i am kinda confused by this info. so if you haven't installed another OS on your ps3 and it's the same it came with, then you are good and won't have any problems correct?

Okay, so it's actually April 1st over in Japan now. Is anybody seeing any news updates anywhere that says this actually happened over there? (The OtherOS removal, I mean)

it's only like 7 AM there. Besides, Sony likes to take their sweet time with updating stuff, including PSN store content that actually makes them money.

Well you won't have any problems whether you have another OS installed or not, but until you download the new update some things will supposedly be disabled for you.

if you use other os, the update will obviously cause you to lose access to anything stored on that partition. I suppose you'd have to do a full ps3 restore or whatever to get that space back for general ps3 use.

Yup. I think that feature was implemented in the fw 2.80

Yeah, but they also said something about forcing you to do the next update, otherwise some PSN things won't be accessible (it was on another page I believe).

they won't force you to update, it's just that refusing to do so will prevent you from playing newer games or signing into PSN. MS does the same thing with their forced updates, which makes these "optional".

Oh right that's what I mean, that they basically threaten you to do so.
