If they can get all the studios to be a part of it, it'll easily trump XBL's offering since obviously Sony/Columbia Pictures won't ever be on XBL's service.

Only issues I see for most are downloads. HD movies are 4-5 gigs sometimes on XBL. Since you have to leave the PS3 on where you can turn off the 360, I wonder how that'll go over for some of the slower network people. I get great speeds off PSN, but if you get a 1 gig file in 4 hours like some people said with the NCAA Football demo, are you going to leave your PS3 on for the next 16-20 hours to get a movie?

I like that you can view the videos from the PSN store while you are downloading them. Maybe they will have that feature while you are downloading a movie.

Yeah, XBL has that as well, but for a movie it's going to be obviously longer, so for some it won't help much.

For me, the PS3 will become where I download HD movies since I think they will be in better quality especially if they include HD audio (which they should).

No way you'll be able to own them, unless they pull an iTunes, which then you'll pay 15-30 bucks a piece for them. I shouldn't say "no way" as they could do that just a question is there a market for it. I know I wouldn't pay 15 (30 for HD) bucks for a movie that's stuck to the PS3's hard drive, but that's just me.

My guess, 24 hour rentals. Who knows though.

With adding all of these new features, Sony seems they'll eventually be ahead of the game with all this stuff we're getting. Who knows what we'll see next?

Honestly though, both of these things are being used on other systems. MS has had movies and TV shows for almost 2 years, and the Wii has had the Life thing since launch.

Granted, they are both now on one system instead of 2, but I don't think either of these are monster announcements that's going to put the nail in MS coffin.

They are more nice to have's. For the Life thing, I'm sure you can find the info faster on the PS3's browser than actually using it. I want to hear more about the movies as I'm hoping they have all the studios.

EDIT - and anyway, MS announced they are having Mii's in the fall. I mean, that's enough to win isn't it? No....well, I tried. LOL (worst idea ever, of all the things to steal, good job MS)
