PSN-exclusive Punisher game in works

Zen Studios has been working on a brand new Punisher title exclusively for PSN.

The game, subtitled No Mercy, will be a multiplayer-focused first-person shooter where players blow each other to pieces in battleground arenas, according to Zen boss Zsolt Kigyossy (speaking on the US PlayStation blog).

The developer, a self-confessed den of Marvel fans, will also pay particular attention to recreating the "style and grit" of the Punisher licence using Unreal Engine 3.

We'll let you know when a date or any other details crop up.

Not me, the game looks like it's based off the new crap Punisher movie, thats what the guy looks like in that screen shot.

It's definitely based off the new "Thomas Jane-less" Punisher movie, but still, it's The Punisher!

Granted, I won't ever see the movie, but the game looks good. Loved the last Punisher game.

Wouldn't bet on it. I sure hope so but I bet it comes out on 360 and not ps3.

Nah man I bet it will. There will be the NYC event, but when it's over, probably around 11 PM ET, it will be availible for DL.

Definitely getting Wipeout/Megaman as well. This has got to be the most I've ever spent on the PSN in one day. (I'm also getting the Burnout download)... Just hope the servers can work the massive downloads today.
