So wait whats the difference between PS3 and 360 installs?? Because I installed Pro Evolution soccer 2008 to my ps3 hard drive.. Both systems still need the CD, so there is really no point...

PS3 installs are partial installs where only certain files are copied to the hard drive in an effort to improve performance. On 360, when you install a game the whole game is installed to your hard drive and after that the only reason you need the dvd in the drive is to verify that you actually have the game. Otherwise you could rent games, install them and keep playing them even after you return them.

Check the PS3 Discussion Thread, it says what it all is. I think it is mainly an update to the flash player in the Internet browser so you can watch vids full screen now.

You guys should stop downloading from the PS3 and update through a USB stick. Check out Playstation.com, download the firmware, transfer to a USB, update your PS3. If the firmware isn't on the site yet, make sure to check the forums since they usually have a link before Playstation.com puts it up.

I don't know why but mine took about five hours. I even tried downloading it on my computer and it was expected to take three hours.

Normally updates are only a few minutes for me.

I'll say it again, if possible try to use a wired connection. Wireless seems much slower on the ps3.

I always use a wired connection. Lately I've been switching back and forth, as I don't see much of a difference.
