    Fat Princess Single-Player Modes Detailed

Fat Princess is one of the most anticipated titles coming out for the PlayStation Network, and thanks to the Game Developers Conference we have a few more details on it. Joystiq reports that two single-player modes are planned for the game. "The Legend of Fat Princess" is a story mode featuring gameplay like the multiplayer mode, but against bots. It covers the origins of the famed cake. "Gladiator" mode is more of an endurance match, sending waves of enemies to defeat.

Also, as mentioned in our GDC preview, the game is said to be due out this summer. It's a wide window of time and still a few months away, but at least we know that the traditionally slow summer months will have a cake-hungry princess to look forward to.

I can't remember how many nights in college we spent on this game. Can't wait to see how it transitions to PS3.

Well I went ahead and ordered my 3rd PS3 today, for the bedroom since Amazon is currently running a deal where if you get the 80GB edition they give you a $50 gift card. I used free shipping and with no tax it works out to a great deal I think. Can't wait to have Blu-ray on all tvs!!

Haha, yeah man, i'm a telecommunications engineer on a contract @ Verizon Wireless. The economy may be bad for a lot of industries but the wireless industry and in particular the company I'm working for is doing quite well right now. My speculation is all those poor people looking for jobs are using more minutes, LOL (sorry I have ghoulish humor).

Anyways, when ever anyone says i'm nuts for having 3 PS3's I ask them if they have more than one DVD player. I know PS3's are much more expensive but that's the reason I wanted more than one, for Blu-Ray. I looked at getting a regular player but the price difference for what you got didn't seem to make it worth buying. I mean why pay $180-$200 for a player alone that is inferior to a PS3 and has no media streaming or game playing ability???

Well I will say that although this is the highest paying contract i've ever worked it's because Verizon Wireless is the most technically advanced company with the most training and the most cutting edge technology in the industry so i'm REALLY earning my money (no more days of posting at OS because i'm all caught up on my work like some past jobs heh). At every other job i've been at i've been (in my mind) clearly the smartest person working there making, by far, the fewest mistakes, but here I'm just another one in a sea of intelligent nerds who really know their stuff. No wonder they are the industry leader, pay more for the best, cream-of-the-crop talent makes for a good business plan. (Oh and not to badmouth my former employer T-Mobile too much but seriously, making your cellular engineers pay for their own cell phone...are you kidding me?? Yeah it's at a reduced rate but still..)

With that being said, yeah I know 3 PS3s is pretty wild and maybe borderline toys-in-the-attic insane but I only have 2 Xbox 360's, LOL. And even with my spending since I have no family, no kids and no debt I've been able to put back quite a bit of cash for a house and retirement so that's a bonus. Who knows if I can afford a PS8 when I retire but hey at least i'll have 3 PS3's, heh heh.

If I were wanting a bluray player in different rooms at different times, I would just pick up the 12-pound-or-whatever PS3 and hook it up in the other room, and then move it back when I was done

                  But that's just me

Well in theory you could do that to TV's nowadays too with them being LCD and not very heavy but who the hell wants to be doing that stuff??

I agree, hooking/unhooking becomes a pain. Do u also play games on the other systems too or do u use one mainly?

LOL, I just do the hook/un-hook I do have duplicate cables in a couple rooms so all I have to do is move the actual PS3.

I don't even bother hooking/unhooking (I'm lazy, LOL!), I just watch and play my games on our main TV. I have never seen the point in buying multiples of one system for the house even though it does sound kind of cool. That could change once my kids start getting older and if they want their own gaming machine, which could happen.

I bounce back and forth between PS3 and 360. I use PS3 for single player games and 360 for multi-player in general.
