No sound on my PS3 after installing Update 1.90! Help!

My PS3 was working fine but then after insalling 1.90 the PS3 reset and when it came back on there was no sound.

I've checked the audio output in the System Settings and ev'thing. I even reset original PS3 settings.

The last resort is to totally reformat the hard drive, but if I do I lose all my demos and stuff I downloaded, etc. Basically ev'thing on the hard drive will be gone.

Please if someone else has this problem and a fix let me know.

I finally gave up and just did a "quick" reformat of the hard drive. Funny thing is that it didn't clear out the update, just all my demos and video clips. Sound is workling again, though. Very mysterious. This happen to anyone else?

I've been reading that 1.90 has been causing all kinds of problems......1 being your issue and another the PS1/PS2 BC stopped working all of a sudden for some people. I think I might just wait to install this update and just wait for the next one.
