Elite question...

[WTF]

How do you transfer files from an existing 360, to the new HD of the Elite? Is it possible? I have my old xbox 360 hd here, while the other one is getting ready to head to McAllen if the coffin ever gets here, but in the meantime, how do I get the files from the HD onto the new Elite HD?

I think there's a 360 transfer kit that cost like $10 and it allows you to do a one time transfer from your 360 to the Elite. At least that's what i've read, maybe Candy or EG might know something more about it.

I thought MS gave those cables away for free..

They give those cables away for free, but you have to call MS after you have bought the Elite to get those sent to you.

I thought you sold your 360 to your aunt.

I did... but it got the RROD... so I'm having to send it back to MS. So I have the HD of the old one right now

Just call MS and once you prove that you have it they will send it. They overnight it too so you are good to go.

Just so you know, the old HDD will be wiped clean. Nothing will be left when you do it.

can you wipe it clean,so that it can be sold,and no one gets your info? thinking about upgrading to the elite.

If you transfer using the cable, the old HDD will be completely erased.

Thanks for the info. He doesn't really have anything saved, other than Condemned and possibly a few double agent files... Maybe I can transfer those to a memory card first?

I just ordered one from CC, I'm picking it up after work. Woot, Woot! I'm hoping the memory card thing your talking about WTF works for game saves. I don't see why it wouldn't.

Edit: CC said they will give me a refund within 30 days of the price drop difference.

1. Elites readily available in stores?

2. Anyone have a link from Microsoft for the memory/hard drive transfer cable and how to get it?

Yes, using a memory card will allow you to transfer your saves from one system to another.
