Is the PS3 suppose to be able to download demos/PSN content while you play a game? Mine does not, I can select something for download and once it starts I can start a game and when I get back to it - it will be at 0% or 1% where I left it.

I noticed the same thing. I started downloading the Dirt demo yesterday, played a full game of Madden which lasted about an hour and when I left Madden my download was at 2%. I figured it would take way too long to download the whole thing but just as I was thinking that I noticed the progress going up 1% every 4 or 5 sec. Kind of lame that it doesn't download while you play. -

well when i was playing madden, the dirt demo finished...but another time when i was playing...it stopped
i think it has to do something with going online on your game or somethingComment

Hmm that make sense, I may have to download something and play a game of APF2k8 - I figure since it has the ticker it is online.Comment

Probably the download stops when you go online, because if it kept going you would most likely notice a lag affect.

It's exactly the same thing on XBL. If a game requires online access it takes precedent over any and all downloads.
