I recently pulled out my old NES and SNES consoles and I'm wanting to try out some of the best classic sports games for these consoles that I may have missed out on. I already have Tecmo Super Bowl, but I've heard that version III for SNES is better. Also I have Tecmo NBA Basketball for NES, but was wondering if anyone could recommend a great basketball game for the SNES. As for baseball I have heard many things. Some say Baseball Stars is the best, some say Baseball Stars II is better. I've heard that Ken Griffey's MLB is great and that Griffey's Winning Run is better. I've also heard that the entire Bases Loaded series is good. So instead of trying out all these games I could use a little help from the guys here that I know have played these games before. Also please feel free to recommend any great sports game from either of these consoles. It doesn't have to be one of the sports I listed above. I'm really looking forward to diving back into these consoles, and just really want to get the best experience I can.

IMO, nothing will ever top Baseball Stars, though Bases Loaded and RBI Baseball were both great games too. I liked Double Dribble and Blades of Steel for the NES too. For football, nothing beat Tecmo Bowl or Tecmo Super Bowl.Mario Kart Wii: 1203 9969 5095

If you want to make your own team, Baseball Stars. The Dynasty feature was years before its time. If you want to use real players from that time, RBI. I actually probably had the most fun back then with Bases Loaded 3 like WTF said. It had a great season feature and was the most fun to play. Still, for nostalgia, I would have to go with Baseball Stars. I lost many hours to that game.Mario Kart Wii: 1203 9969 5095

Avoid "Major League Baseball" on the NES...ugh, I remember liking that as a kid, but playing it a year or so ago and I find out the game was pretty much trashNintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

On the SNES, I loved Hardball III by Accolade. The game had licensed players but not the teams so you had Boston, Anaheim, Cincinnati, etc. The divisions and leagues were spot on. Only no team names. But the user could edit the logo and edit the players. For a game that was released in 1993, it was way ahead of its time.
Also Madden NFL '96, which one of the first franchise modes I can remember. The user could create a player (name, height, weight), assign a position and run him through several training camp drills which would determine his skill levels. The franchise mode was great fun, plus there were codes for old time teams.Comment

NES Open, World Cup, Baseball Stars, Techmo Bowl, and RBI Baseball for the NES.
Some think Baseball Stars II was better than the first one, and they did tweak it a bit for the better, but some of the best features were eliminated like the ability to rename players.Comment
