Who has the XBoX 360 Elite?...
I am glad I got the Buell- I love riding it, I love the oddball looks I get on the road- I love people asking "What IS that thing?" I love flying into a corner WAY too hot, scared spitless and sure I'll never hold it at this speed- and hearing the bike whisper "Sissy!"...Tags: None -

I will have one no later than the end of this month. I would also like to know the benefits of the Elite. I heard it comes with HDMI chord and obviously has the 120Gig HD.Chalepa Ta Kala..... -

If your TV supports 1080p then getting the elite is a no-brainer. Hard Drive size isnt a big deal, but black cosmetics is for some reason to many.....Anyways, no reason not to get the elite if your TV supports 1080p - if you dont have TV that supports it then the black cosmetics is the only discernable difference. It would take forever to fill up any of the HDs and you can always swap/upgrade them if necessary.Comment

I have the elite and the hdmi to me does make a difference. If you have a tv that supports 1080p then I would recommend it. The movies do seem much more crisp. The only other diffrences is the hard drive is around 120gb and that it comes in black. You also get a black controller too.Comment

I have an elite and there is a difference. It isn't huge. No HDMI cable came with mine either. Mine runs quieter too and doesn't get as hot. Looks cooler too.

Re: Who has the XBoX 360 Elite?...
lol....Its technology - 1080i vs 1080p & analog vs digital - Interlaced vs progressive....It has nothing to do with the Elite vs the Premium. If your TV supports it - Digital, progressive 1080p is going to be better than 1080i analog, interlaced...If it doesnt, there wont be a discernable difference. Progressive will always be better than interlaced, Digital will always be better than analog on Microdisplays.
1080i & digital (HDMI) isnt significantly better than 1080i with component (analog).....I kind of know something about this stuff from experience, I may have bought my 360 before the Elite came out but I still use HDMI and HD-DVD with my setups.....I a home theater installer/nut, not exactly a kid here thank you.....
Also, check monoprice.com for anyone needing a very good HDMI Cable at a reasonable price if you go that route and its not supplied.
If you have a 720p display - then the difference will be quite negligible - only difference being digital vs analog and that difference isnt worthy of the price differential. If you have no plans to upgrade your Display then no reason to get the Elite.....If you are concerned about "future-proofing" - then the Elite will be worthy of the price.Last edited by Lorax; 09-11-2007, 03:16 PM.Comment

I wish I could ditch my elite for a premium with HDMI. I want to keep my HDD though
The black 360 and the white HD-DVD add on drive me nuts.

I didn't even think about that (black Elite + white HD-DVD drive). What they should've done is have a built-in HD-DVD drive on the Elite and release it for $500 or something. It's not very 'Elite' when the only real difference between it and the Premium is the color and a bigger HD (which you can buy and add-on to your Premium).
I'm just glad I didn't jump on the Elite when it first came out because all I really wanted is the HDMI. Not to rub it in or anything... heh.Last edited by Stumbleweed; 09-11-2007, 06:18 PM.Send your Midnight Release weirdo pics/videos to my new website: http://www.peopleofmidnightreleases.com!Comment
