Finally making the move to the 360

Well I went to play my Xbox yesterday and it finally kicked the bucket after 6 years. I'm now probably going to finally make the jump to the 360, but I have absolutely no knowledge about it. I never thought about getting one during launch because I didn't have the money, but now with no Xbox I think I'm going to do it.

I looked up some info and it looks like the Pro/Premium Holiday package is pretty good and $350 seems reasonable, but is this really all I need?

I'm mostly a sports gamer with your Halo and GTAs thrown in, and online isn't a huge deal to me, so would this be the package to get? I'm just looking for more info to catch up with what I've missed the past couple of years and try to figure out what my move should be.

I've really like the 360. I bought this system after I played Ncaa 07 last year. I thought the ugrade was well worth it. GRAW 2 and Rainbow Six Vegas are awesome as well. I was really into Madden 08 online before it died out on me the other day. Hopefully my coffin gets here tommorow so I can send it out soon.

Just make sure you read the "360 Problems, discuss them here" thread. It will help prepare you for a the likely death of you 360 if it happens. I read most of the thread before I dropped 400 on my 360. So it was no surprise, and I was that pissed off since I expected it. Although it died, I can't wait to get it up and running again, it's an awesome system. Hopefully you'll get lucky and not have to deal with it at all.

I really want to pick one up but I just don't have the money right now. And my Xbox dying hasn't helped matters, I just want to unwind from classes with some video games and just can't. It's frustrating.
