Comes out in Japan in winter and in the states spring. The latest firmware 2.00 had the the dual shock support in it.

Any idea if they're bundling it in with the systems in the future? I feel for the current PS3 owners, it'll blow to have to re-buy your controllers again

Yes, it was confirmed that future systems will have the rumble contoller packaged with it. They also said that some games which are already out were going to download patches to recognize rumble in the games.

The Dual Shock 3 is in stock tomorrow in Japan.

If they aren't backordered (the link above is) or pop up on eBay, I might buy one early. I think the controllers are region-free, but I'm not sure.

Let us know if it works. If it does, I may import one as well. I thought I read that only games from that region would have rumble and they'd roll out rumble for US/Canada games in the spring via a patch once the dual shock 3 is released.

Motorstorm, Resistance, Ratchet & Clank, Heavenly Sword, and Warhawk are all games that have rumble enabled right now. Uncharted and some future titles will have it from the jump.

So, when I find a DS3, there will be some games I can use the rumble with.

Looks like play-asia is backordered.

Someone got it yesterday on the PS forums and said it is much heavier then the sixaxis. Also stated there are some trigger adjustments.

Rumble is nice to have, but not for 84 bucks. I can wait. And to be honest, I haven't missed it with the PS3 thus far. Still, I only have one controller for the PS3 so I feel I might as well wait for the new one to come out before picking up a second.

Well we’ve added support for the DUALSHOCK 3 controller with adjustable sensitivity settings, and we’ve added sensitivity settings for SIXAXIS Motion Sensor control. Also, finishing position from the last race now determines your starting grid position in the next race within the same online lobby. Oh, and the grid order is completely randomized for the first race in any online lobby.

Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction

ShackNews is reporting that copies of Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction contain an updater to Sony's latest code, and it provides support for the rumblin' DualShock3 controller due out in Japan in November and in the US sometime this spring.
