Console Opinions...

I haven't played my xbox 360 for at least a week, so today i turned it on and got the RROD. I'm on my first release with this 360. I know most of you will say read reviews on the internet, of which I was just browsing some sites. I still need everyones opinion, please. What would be the best deal, money aside. The new xbox 360 premium or the 360 elite. Which has the least amount of problems so far, that you know of. I'm ready to spend some money on a new console.

I can't remember what plan i had but you say it's a 3 year regardless? I want a console with the HDMI though.

The RROD is 3 years yes. No reason not to send this one in to get it replaced, you can always sell it off later if you want to buy something new (if your replacement doesn't have HDMI).

Money is not the problem. I understand what you are saying but I'm going out tonight with my wife to buy a new one. So which one, premium or elite should i buy.

Also, I can't even get into my dead 360 to recover my saves. Dang.

If you need the extra hard drive space and HDMI cable, go with the elite. Otherwise, I think the new HDMI 360 Pro's are the same machine. I have the HDMI Pro and so far so good. Except for the lound disk drive but I think that is an issue with all 360's.

I got the Arcade 360...has HDMI and is the same as the premium except for the stuff in the box (no HD, no games, no headset)...I just put my old HD on the new 360 and it's worked great (and I've tested it with Mass Effect...i've played for hours straight and no issues).

Obviously if you're buying new you'd want a premium, but if you're just replacing the 360 itself I'd go Arcade.

If I don't do any online stuff, don't pay for xbox live and only play sports games, should i consider a Playstation 3? Need a response fast because i'm going out tonight to buy a console.

I'd say so because it is easier to transfer rosters.

I made my decision and ordered the 80GB PS3. I had store credit and got it for 321.00 dollars. I don't play online, i don't use online services and I don't play against anybody. So my decision came down to the 360 failure rates and went safe with Sony. I loved my 360 but this round goes to Sony. There will be more technology and I'm sure more purchases in the future. Also, i'm patient on waiting for more and better games to come out for the PS3 so that wasn't a problem either. Can't wait to here my doorbell ring.
