Depends on what you want to do. To play with other people you have to pay for Xbox Live Gold. Xbox Live Silver is free, which enables you to download demos, etc.

Yeah, the Silver account lets you get demos, patches, music, movies and TVshows, video game trailers, access to your friends list, leaderboards for games like GHII, and firmware updates for the 360 dashboard.

The Gold account allows you to play with other people, and goes like this:

8 dollars for 1 month
20 bucks for 3 months
50 bucks for a year

rosters have nothing to do with what account you have

all you need is a memory card and transfer kit or a friend who already has the file

If its an Ea game u have to have gold to dl anything from them online, if its 2ksports or most other games u dont need gold to update.

Steps for buying a xbox 360.
1. with console purchase buy 2 year extended warranty from the store for extra $60 trust me you will need it.
2. buy a 12-month gold membership $40 from amazon or circuity city.
3. looks online for deals for games and accesories u can usually find them much cheaper than stores.

If you want the new chipset you can get the Halo eddition 360. The new chipset is supposed to keep the system cooler. Only problem is you will have to keep it in a corner so you dont get sick off the puke green color.

Yes but you usually get a free month of gold as test run when you buy the 360.

Nice. But I just noticed the 1 month Gold trial doesn't come with the Pro bundle. Only Elite and Halo.
