I am waiting to pull the trigger on a PS3 but am holding out hope that Sony lowers the price again. Do you think I am dreaming or is it at the bottom for the time being? Any sony insiders??

I am going to pull the trigger once the BluRay format wins At least that is my gut feeling.
To be honest, I really don't care for using my PS3 for the Blu-ray player, I have the spider man 3 Blu-ray and I watched it the other day, then put one of my dvd's in my dvd's player that up converts, and I must say I really can't see a huge difference. I rather Kill my PS3 lens for games then killing it with watching movies. My dvd player still does the job for me.
Yeah, that's why I just pulled the trigger...there won't be one until late summer/early fall in the earliest...
doubt your going to see another price drop then, like someone posted I think $400 is just about right for the lower model, I don't think it will drop anymore...

I'm the exact opposite. My Ps3 is a bluray player that plays games. My 360 is for games. Also if you think there is only a small difference than Blu-ray and upconverting you need your eyes checked.

I'm the same way...I'm playing games on the PS3, but it's now my dedicated Blu-ray and upscaling DVD player. I have my 360 for games and HD-DVD's, but the 360's just louder than the PS3 (plus i can't help but have minor heat worries, even though I've got a Best Buy plan). I have no problem playing all non HD-DVD movies on the PS3, and it saves me from having to have a standalone DVD player. Granted, I'm not a total movie technology guy. I'm sure some standalones are better in sound or other things, but it looks and sounds great to me.

At this point with the BD players, the PS3 is still top notch even besting the standalone players.
there wont be another price drop for awhile, as there's no real point. They'll push the "cheap" bluray capabilities for now, then bump up the hype when the big games like MGS4 come out later, way later..in 2008.
