Ok I have a 360 elite. I tried hooking it up through HDMI on my new 32 inch olieva. It kept saying invalid format. I thought it may have been a problem with the TV. So i give up on it and just hook it up through the component jacks. Well for my birthday which was the 28th, I got a ps3. It only came with the standard jacks. For the hell of it I try using the HDMI cable that came with the 360 to hook up the ps3. It works immediately. SO then I try to Hook up the 360 again. and again i get invalid format. Anyone else have this kind of problem.

did you have the 360 hooked up to a sdtv before you got your HDTV?
If you did, then hooked it back up using the component cables and switch it to HDTV and then set the format to 720p, let it set, then hook up the HDMI cable and you should be fine.Last edited by RoyalBoyle78; 01-02-2008, 10:19 AM.N.Y Mets

Actually i had it hooked up to a 19" LCD monitor via VGA cables before hooking it up to the Olieva, my 360 is already set to 720p with the componenet cables. It's not that big of a deal tbqh, just odd to me.Comment
