I'm just posting this to see if others have had similar experience. Ever since the last firmware update I've had some funky things happening with my PS3. They are more annoyances than anything. The main one is that my PS3 never signs onto the PS Network automatically like it used to. I have to go into the room where my wireless router is and unplug it and replug it back in for the PS3 to pick up the signal. This NEVER happened to me before the last firmware update.

Also, I have a real hard time getting music to stream from another computer. Again, this was never an issue before the last update.

so my new ps3 from gamestop...seems like one of the USB ports isn't working...is it worth exchanging? could this be symptomatic of a different problem?

I would exchange it. Could be just a bad connection, or it could be the start of a board going out.

If you're within the exchange window what's the harm in swapping it out. Just save all your data to a USB stick.

Been noticing in the past 2-3 days that the 3 games that I mostly play on the PS3 (Madden 11, NCAA 11 and MLB 10 The Show) are experiencing more skipping/slowdowns than before.

Is there a reason for this or is this pretty common for games on the PS3? I hadn't really noticed it much the past few months playing only The Show (it would happen but not a lot), but it seems more frequent now.

I had to do this once last week, but I couldn't get onto the internet from my computer either, so I don't think it was a PSN issue.

i cant stream .mp4 files now after the latest update but they still play if i put them on a thumbdrive

DA, to stream mp4 files I use ps3 media server. It works for the 360 too.

yeah but it was working before using window media player now all the .mp4 say corrupt on the ps3 unless i use a thumbdrive. i was just wondering if i was the only one experiencing this problem

being looking around everywhere....searched and everything but still cant seem to find which display settings are optimal. cross color reduction filter? RGF full range hdmi?

i keep playing around with the settings but I can never figure out where they are suppose to be set to. can someone direct me better? thanks!
