I guess so, unless you can find an 80 gig model. Although this news pretty much gives people a reason to hold off on ps3 purchases until june. How genius Sony...

Who would pay $500 now for the 80 gig model, when you get a better one in a few months? While it'll hurt ps3 sales, the deal is too good to say oh well, and buy one now. If you don't have a ps3 and want one, just hold off to june.

Should have announced it later for business reasons. That or had the 80GB in production a little longer. Still find it weird they would leave the market with just one SKU and it being the 40GB.

I'm one of those potential customers that has been waiting for this announcement. I just sold my 360 and have been waiting to hear when they plan to release the PS3 w/ DS3. I'm really in no hurry, so I can probably hold off until June.

This new bundle now has me conflicted. It seems a great value, but I was hoping to get a PS3 to play The Show sometime by April. Now I don't know what to do!

Guys. I had recently bought a 40 gig PS3 believing that the true backwards compatible 60 gig was no longer in existence, but I stumbled upon a Hastings ad this week showing NEW 60 gig PS3's for 449$ after a $50 mail-in-rebate plus a free extra PS3 controller. After much debate, I caved and called my local store thinking they'd be sold out...when much to my surprise the guy told me they had 2. I asked if he would hold one till I got off work and now I have everything I could ever ask for in one awesome machine! PSOne, PS2, PS3, PSP compatability, upconverting DVD player, upconverted games, and a Blu-ray player to boot - not to mention memory stick and various other storage capabilities. I also picked up a 320 gig hard drive and will be transferring all my cd's to my PS3 as well. Will sell my other PS3, PS2, games and accessories and hopefully recoup most of my losses. BOTTOM LINE: check your local Hastings ASAP. The may be able to hook you up w/ the best PS3. Now all I have in my entertainment center is my TV and my PS3. I never imagined just how powerful Sony's PS3 really was. I think they were reaaling forward thinking with this device. I haven't regretted my purchase at all. Best of luck gentlemen in your PS3 endeavors. Just wanted to give those looking a heads up. Take care.

I've been playing around in the new Home update, and fore the most part game launching, and I must say this feature is effing good. Using my bluetooth, talking to people watching a chess game. I asked one of the looky loos if they want to try game launch, I put in NBA 2k8 put created a game with psn name and we launched into the game one caveat you must ask the other guy to put his disc in as well. They have really refined the Home experience with this update.

I think the detractors are really gonna take a second look, once the community builds. The create a avatar has been refined to make it much easier to use and make a better likeness of your self. It works well with PSN games on your HDD, I launched into Warhawk and High stakes poker ect... All in All I can say You guys are going to eat this up especially game launch with several guys into game of lets say COD4 or Resistance, ect.... tomorrow we have the stress test and I'll let you know how it goes. Oh the market place where you will be able to purchase things or get things for free is pretty nice.

I found it strange that Sony would tell the public about the MGS4 bundle in Feb. I imagine some people will hold off on purchasing their PS3 now.

With this bundle being announced, I wonder if the 40 GB will drop in price. With Blu Ray winning the format war and LBP coming out later this year, the PS3 looks really attractive right now. I would prefer to wait for the DS3 to come out locally, but I'm not sure I can hold out that long.

Are all the new Playstation network games $10? I wonder how much replay value Everyday Shooter, Superstar Dust HD, and the Bowling game have.

I agree. Anything that makes jumping into games with your friends online easier is good news. The virtual community aspects of Home are starting to sound pretty interesting as well.

well the mgs4 80 gig is a damn fine deal, there's no point in denying that. You get the better ps3 hardware, the better controller, and a great game. Even though I own a 40 gig model, I wouldn't have bought it if this bundle was looming at the time. There's also no reason to buy a current 80 gig model if you can find one, when you get a better deal for the same amount of money.

This mgs4 bundle gives every reason to hold off on buying a ps3 until june. How stupid of sony.

                                ::PLEASE HELP::

I just got a PS3 over the weekend

Last night I received 3:10 to Yuma on Blu-Ray.

                                I haven't played a Blu-Ray disc on my PS3 yet.

So we get all cozy on the couch ready to show off the new Blu-Ray.

I fire it up and it everything is working, I put in the disk and it starts loading , then I get a scrambled image, and I can no longer view the Blu-Ray.

Now my T.V. is kinda Old and only supports 480/720/1080i.

I changed the PS3 to 720 to no avail.

I only tried for about 20 minutes before giving up and watching T.V.

                                So what do I do?

I was hoping to save my 100th post for when I got the Show but I really want to enjoy my Blu-Ray.

I aplogize if this has been discussed already but I am new to the PS3.

Thank you for pointing me in the right direction
