    PS3 fps question

I apologize in advance if this has been asked before, but I couldn't find a definitive answer when I tried to search...

Is it confirmed that EA & 2k's sports games are all going to be at 60 fps for the PS3 this coming fall? I know Madden and NHL were both at 30 fps...did NBA or any other game by EA actually make it to 60 fps this year?

Any web link that gives an update on this?

    Thanks!

EA im pretty sure is getting there though, Burnout Paradise an EA tittle was made for PS3 and ported to 360 this should be a preview of whats to come for most games to be honest.. NBA live was 30 as well unfortunatley, NBA 2k8 was 60 though, NFL tour was 60, i guess well find out maybe in july about madden and what its running, im sure itll 60, alotta ppl were really Pissed last year, and now theres alot more people with PS3's so

      Re: PS3 fps question

Of course, the whole issue has been beaten to death around here (i.e. how 60 fps is WAY better than 30, and how movies are only shot in 24, blah, blah, blah), but I would like to mention that NHL08, although running at 30fps, is a smooth and responsive experience, much better than NCAA, for example, and just as good, imo, as NBA 2K8, which runs at 60. Point being, I'll take a solid 30fps that runs good over the sales pitch of "60 FRAMES PER SECOND!!" any day. In other words, just give me a quality game, 30fps or 500fps.
      I am become death
      Do not underestimate my apathy

Not all 2K games were 60FPS. APF 2K8 was 30. Also, I'm pretty sure NBA Live and FIFA were 60 FPS this year.

          2k's games are 60. EA's games are 60.

I'm pretty sure NBA Live 08 was running at 60. March Madness for some reason was running at 30, though. You can really tell a difference between the two.

Both Live, MM, and NFL Tour run at 60 on the PS3 but the problem is it isn't stable and has drops here and there. Just isn't as smooth as the 360 which is a shame.

All 2K games run at 60 the same on each system except APF as stated which is 30.

Thanks for all of the answers. Is this something that will change as the developers have more time to work with the PS3?

Well NBA Live and MM were both the first time the EA basketball teams worked with the PS3. NHL and NCAA were a first as well.

Some gaming companies are calling EA out on being lazy and I kind of agree. But I wouldn't worry too much though, I would be really suprised if next year EA games continued to have these problems. Madden this year took a lot of heat for the 30/60 FPS issue.

One good thing though is the recent Burnout game made by EA was made on the PS3 and ported over to the 360. Both got very good reviews.
