Gamestop Xbox trade-in value

I just got the Gamestop weekend newsletter and it has a coupon for a $20 hardware trade-in bonus. Anybody know much I will get for an original Xbox in a trade-in? I tried to sell mine on Craigslist and didn't have any luck, so I'm thinking of trading it in to get MLB 2k8.

I don't know if it is available to non employee's but I work at Best Buy and there is a electronics trade-in which they give you gift cards for the value you trade in. I know the oringinal xbox was at $40 last I checked, although no promises for it because it may be employee only.

You may want to post the fact that you are selling in the NFL2K5 forum here. Alot of guys have PS2's but would love a first gen Xbox to play NFL2K5 with all the roster mods, etc...

Also a few days ago, some guys on the college football thread were wishing they could play NCAA 2004 but had no original x boxs to play it on.

Keep it. You'll wish you had a few years from now when it's hard to come by. It's a good system. I'm planning on scooping up one for myself so I can play all those games I never got to play on it. Plus Microsoft is starting to do the $15 originals thing which is too much compared to what you can find those games for on ebay and what have you.

I agree, I ended up getting rid of my 360 b/c all the crap that came with it. I thought about going back to the PS2 but then I saw all the things you can do with 2K5 for the XBox. I ended up getting an XBox and 20+ games that were no more than 10-15 dollars each, and am having a blast with them.

Does it play cd-r's? If it does I'd be willing to pay straight cash homie. I have one already but it doesn't play burnt cds.
