    PS3 Console Question

Was going to purchase a PS3 today, however I was told they discontinued the 80gb bundles, and I will have to wait until the MGS4 bundle is released to purchase a PS3 with Backwards compatibility. Not really a huge deal as I can always get a PS2 again.

My real question is between the 40gb and 80gb what are the real differences in consoles? Is 80gb really necessary??? How much do game saves really take up? I'm not a big guy on putting my music or videos on my system so maybe the 40gb would be okay? Can someone help me out on what type of PS3 I should get. Thanks for any help in advance.

Sorry I will put this in the official PS3 thread. I'm ********.

I really don't know all the differences but if you go to sonystyle.com, you can compare them. Just wanted to give you a heads up on a deal though. Today's Toysrus ad has 15% off if you open up a credit account. The way I look at it is, if you have the cash to buy one, Just open up a account and then pay it off right away then close it.

Also I don't know if the deal is still there but on Sonystyle. com a while back if you open up a account you get 100.00 off your first purchase...The only thing with that is it takes roughly a week to find out if you get approved or not I believe....

    Hope that helps

I ran into the exact same scenerio yesterday. I was going to be content with a 40 until I found out I couldn't get an 80. The 80 has obviously more space, plus backwards compatibility(which I am most interested) and 2 more USB ports. I might hold out for an 80 or find one now in some obscure place.
