    A little PS3 help

I just recently purchased a PS3. I finally had enough of the typical xbox 360 nonsense (was on my 5th). I am attempting to to connect online but am having some difficulties. My linksys router is sitting on the same table as the console (maybe 6 inches away). My laptop works fine. However, every time the console attempts to obtain an IP address, it is unable to. The attempt always times out. Am I doing something wrong? Is there something I need to do that I have not? Any assistance would be appreciated.

      Re: A little PS3 help

      couple things you can try.

      1. reset the router (unplug it and plug it back in)
      2. manually configure the ps3 if you are doing it automatically now
      3. Make sure the "search for media servers" is unchecked for now

If you have tried those 2, disable security on your router just long enough to get the ps3 connected the first time.
