I was in Best Buy and this sales person was selling a $120 Monster Cable to some customer. When the sales person walked away, I said to the guy, "You don't need that. Save yourself at least $80 and buy it online. " I got four cables for less than that one. They just make customers believe that they need them. It's a pure digital cable. The garbage they promote doesn't make that much of a difference.

I bet that sales person would have had quite the reaction had you said that while he was still standing there.

I try to guide someone toward the manager so the manager can here me tell them this.

That will work just fine.If you have an AV receiver with HDMI in,run the cable from the PS3 to the receiver,then another HDMI to your display.
You won't need a separate cable for audio,and you will get lossless sound for Blu-Ray movies.
