The old-school way of roster sharing

Has anyone tried the old way of transferring a roster lately. I just transfered a NBA 2k roster and just selected the roster from the save dropped it in my folder and poof could use it. Even went to the memory part on the dash and it said it was from an unknown profile. But it loaded fine and works.

For those who dont remember the new way was you had to transfer the whole profile and the profile had to be a dummy profile and then you had to load up in the game, log out of your profile then log in the dummy load then log back into your profile and save. It worked but was a pain.

There was that little update a couple of weeks ago for the xbox that was suppose to gear up for the big spring update, is it possible they opened something up for us?

Somebody else just try to transfer a roster the old way.

I always thought it was game specific (i.e. the developer decides which content is tied to a profile and which isn't).
