PS2 Network Adapter Problem
So I'm trying to setup my ps2 so I can play games online ( I have comcast cable) but I have ran into a problem I cant figure out.....When I manually (wont work with the automatic option) put in the info it needs and it runs its test for the connection...I will get a pop up on my cpu that says "Windows-system error...there is an conflict with another system on the network". After waiting awhile, the ps2 will finally say something like..."You are online but we were unable to contact SCEA" or something like that. Then it will ask me to save my settings. But when I put in a game and try to go online that same error message pops up again on my cpu and my connection times out.
Anyone know what the problem may be and how to fix it? ThanksTags: None -

Re: PS2 Network Adapter Problem
Chances are you're using settings from data on your computer (otherwise I don't know how you know random IP and DNS numbers lol). I know some places, like my school even, don't allow you to be online, or even connected, with another source while trying to connect with one already. So, for instance, if your Internet is enabled on your computer while you're trying to connect with PS2, that might be the IP conflict.
Try disabling your connection to the Internet on your computer and see what happens when you connect again. It would suck if you can't be connected to both your computer and your PS2 at the same time, but if that's the only way you can do it, hey... good luck, man.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60 -

Re: PS2 Network Adapter Problem
I was definitely going about it the wrong way in my first post because after making this thread, I found a help section on comcast that had step by step instructions on how to set everything up. It seemed pretty simple....all I was supposed to do is choose my connection type and then choose automatic.....but the problem is, when it does a connection test, it always fail's and I have no idea why.Chances are you're using settings from data on your computer (otherwise I don't know how you know random IP and DNS numbers lol). I know its not my ethernet cable because its brand new. I just dont know what else to try.
Funny thing is, when I had dial-up I had no problem getting online with my ps2 but now that I have high speed I cant get the freaking thing to work.Comment
