That is the problem with the trophies, they should be for all games.

I'm sure once 2.40 is out, every game that comes out will use it. But before that, it's hard to say how many games will developers go back to and add them in.

Not many I assume. I'm sure Burnout Paradise will because they just keep releasing updates for the PS3. I'm sure many multi-platform games won't. Some exclusives like MGS and Drake might.

I know if I was developing I woundn't be going back to old games and releasing trophy patches. Not worth the resources. RE1 was suppose to have trophies but Insomiac said it isn't worth it and they need to concentrate on RE2 and not patching trophies for RE1.

Drake has "achievements" now, so I'm sure you could easily patch those to trophies, depending on how the overall trophies are done.

A member of GAMEFAQ's appears to be a employee for Sony Computer Entertainment working in the "Foster City" Branch. He goes and states various insider information about the upcoming firmware 2.4, Please read some of his replies and judge for yourself.

"2.40 was supposed to come out June 18th actually...till they found a pretty bad error with the XMB and had to fix it. New date is supposedly July 2ndish, maybe the 1st or 3rd. The RC release for 2.40 is already out though so it's just a matter of time."

"It's not fake, but yeah, that's how the trophy system is looking like so far. I'm hoping it'll only look that way for that section of the PSN member info. The trophies themselves hopefully will look like how they do in the Home videos."

"The last memo to come in was on June 12th, that pushed back 2.40 from June 18th to July 1st-3rd. I would say to expect it then unless they were to find something wrong the with RC version that is out right now."

Interesting enough IGN is calling those pictures bogus. They contacted Sony and Sony said:

"We can't comment on rumors or speculation," a rep said.

IGN says:

Bogus. To begin with, the screens look like ***, but past that, the trophy bar graph is the exact scenario we described on last week's Podcast Beyond. Are we that clairvoyant, or did someone just put an image to our idea? In the end, this tiered concept could be real, but we highly doubt it.

One thing is for sure; if these screens are real, get your act together, Sony. That stuff looks lame.

Just because it looks bad it is bogus? I don't think it looks bad, it looks decent. I'm sure it will be similar to the 360 list. Nothing is spectacular about that; it just gets the job done and if this gets the job done as well than all is good. I'm not going to be starring at this screen for countless hours.

Bingo. They also better have some kind of Trophy sound when you unlock it. The achievement noise was like a drug.
