They probably will, if man made it, man will break it. But I bet that it becomes even harder. The 2001 was a bitch to mod due to having to purchase a battery from the store and pop a pin on it to get the process started. They are working on making harder.

I got my PSP about six months after launch and it's still going strong. No reason to upgrade just for a brighter screen.
