PS3 Display question.

Guys I have full 1080p set, and NHL2k9 is in 1080p, but I have my PS3 display settings set to automatic, but when I put in a 1080p viewable game it automatically set every game at 720p. If the game can be viewed in 1080p, why doesn't it pick that up instead of setting to 720p?

I think you need to uncheck 720p in the ps3 settings.

Why don't you just set it 1080p?

I think you need to uncheck 720p in the ps3 settings.

Yeah - certain games - ESPECIALLY the entire 2kx line of games - don't automatically set the 1080p mode. It has to be set manually in the PS3 display settings by unchecking everything but 1080p.

I did that already tonight and when playing NHL09, it looked funny, because that game only runs in 720p.

Yeah, you'll need to go back and forth for 2K games. When 2K games, just set 1080p. Not sure why they do it since 1080p 2K games look better.
