Well...I got the okay from the wife and I'll be picking up an Elite after work today. I guess for now, I'll transfer my frequently used files via a memory card. I'm guessing I should probably recover my Gamertag on the new console first, right?

I think you can just move your gamertag over to your memory card.Comment

Re: Xbox Experience coming 11/19 - requires 128mb of space
Alright...I'm officially ready for the New Xbox Experience. I picked up a 360 Elite today, replacing my aging console and the 20 gig hard drive that came with it. I used a memory card to transfer all of my game saves and smaller files. Everything else, I redownloaded using MS's DRM transfer tool. It was pretty simple to do.
Only thing now is I gotta re-borrow Rock Band from my co-worker so I can get all of those songs back on my console. Each one would fill up my memory card and I am not about to transfer 50+ songs, one at a time, on a memory card!
This damn thing is quiet as hell though...that was the first thing I noticed. I hit the power button to turn it on for the first time and thought it didn't turn on...I literally didn't hear anything, lol.
And thanks for the advice on the extended warranty. I bought the 2-year deal from Best Buy for $59.99. Well worth it, in my opinion, especially considering how easy it is to use, should I need it.Comment

Basically...I was afraid of buying a new HDD, only to have my old console crap out on me in a month. This way, I have a new console and bigger HDD, killing two birds with one expensive stone.Comment

NXE - What You Want to Know: Community Games Channel
It's that time again - another peek into the upcoming New Xbox Experience. Today, let's do a little math. If easier game development tools = more game developers, and more game developers = more games, what does that mean for the Xbox LIVE community? A bigger selection of games to appeal to your constantly changing appetites.
In a few short weeks we will be coming through on the promise we made almost two years ago on opening up game development to the masses with the Xbox LIVE Community Games Channel. In this week’s Developer Diary, Xbox LIVE’s Major Nelson gives you a sneak peek at the kinds of fun and unique community-created titles that will launch as part of the New Xbox Experience on Nov. 19. Not only is the channel an unprecedented opportunity for aspiring developers to share their ideas and creations with millions of Xbox LIVE members, but as gamers, you’ll have more choices than ever before, and it is all part of the New Xbox Experience.Go Noles!!! >>----->Comment

I listened to it yesterday and he mentioned it several times. He gave away one of those kick *** COG's from Gears 2 as well.
Basically, a few people will get NXE this week.Comment
