Ok, I been gone from this for awhile. This may be a stupid question but I will ask anyway. If you have Xbox Live Gold do you get the Netflicks subscription with it or is it extra? If its extra how much will it be?

It will be extra. I believe it's 9.99 a month or whatever the normal rate is for the subscription. The update just gives you the ability to stream netflix over your xbox360.

Some more on HD Netflix streaming from a 1UP Editor.

The videos are 720p at 5 Mbps.

We'll have a video walkthrough of the NXE with examples of videos up tomorrow on GV. Funny thing is, the bit rate on the walkthrough will actually be slightly less than some of the Netflix videos.

That's actually one of the cool things, the videos will change bit rate on the fly depending on network conditions. So, you might not be able to do HD, but maybe higher than SD.

Most of the recent TV seasons were in HD. Heroes, 30 Rock and Friday Night Lights were just a couple of the shows I tested.

When I was watching video from my home the HD videos would occasionally get bumped down from 5 Mbps to 3.5 Mbps. I wasn't capturing footage at home so I couldn't tell for sure whether it also dropped resolution, but the image still looked very good. The lowest quality videos I could find were about 1.5 Mbps.

I question the whole Netflix deal since people were saying the stream quality was below DVD quality. But now with HD on the way.

It should as the DVD drive won't be used when you install the game. Not sure how much though. But with the new cooler chips and this, it should help.

Any videos of the disc installations to the drive yet and the difference? I'm curious to see what games will be compatible with this. I'd be surprised if it was fault free. Reminds of the PSP being able to save entire games to the hard drive with the right tools. Works wonders for the system.

This was posted a while ago but it's a pretty damn big difference if you ask me.

First rule of the 360: We don't talk about the RROD.

Thanks TJ. I don't see a big difference personally... cutting down load times 4-8 seconds doesn't seem like a big deal to me... but it's still better than playing it off the disc.

That's ALOT of bandwidth, I would guess the majority of users wouldn't' even be able to stream HD from the internet.

They have some DVD vs HDD comparisons for load times. Assassin's Creed, Oblivion, and GTA IV benefited greatly. BioShock did too for a level.

I am so pumped for the Netflix thing. I won't have to leave my bed to put a movie in. Log onto Netflix.com add the movie and there it is waiting for me to watch it.
