Extended Gaming
I was talking to my friend one day,and we both agreed that we wanted to play video games even when we are older. Just wanted to know how you guys feel. (Meaning, do you guys want to do the same thing, or do you see yourselves just quitting?)Tags: None -

Re: Extended Gaming
I've been gaming since I was a kid with the NES, so I probably won't stop if the games are still entertaining. My concern is that games will shift to cater to the more casual type players, or more specifically, the people who just don't play much.
The Wii makes tons of money, while Sony and Ms bleed. I could see them shifting that way, and if it happens, I'll lose interest. -

Re: Extended Gaming
I gotta be honest, Im getting closer and closer to moving away from video games and into other things. I was playing games all the way back to Atari and then had only the Playstation forever, finally upgraded to the PS2 and have owned every system released since then at one point or another. My biggest problem is I play sports games for the most part with the occasional GTA, Saints Row, COD game sprinkled in and while I enjoy those few shooting games they are short for the most part. Now in terms of sports game, Madden has really become a yearly letdown, NBA 2k is pretty good, The Show is awesome but it seems like the quality of a lot of sports games are going downhill which will lead to me quitting sooner rather then later.Comment

Re: Extended Gaming
I've been playing games ever since Atari 5200 and Colecovision and now I own a reg xbox and a 360. I even had a dreamcast and had bought a PS2 while stationed in Japan. Now in my thirties with no wife or kids, I don't see myself quitting. It's in my blood.Fav teams:

37 an still playing all the sports games, and I sprinkle in a COD, Halo, R6V2, Star wars unleashed type of game now and then.
The big difference I see now vs what I did back then, I expect more from a game and my attention span dies out quicker as I have a lot of interest these days.Twitch - bluengold34_osComment

Already told the Family to have a custom made casket with a 7' monitor and whatever system is out at the time. I'm sure it can get pretty lonely 6 ft. deep

Re: Extended Gaming
I won't play for much longer. Sport games seem to progress visually but the core gameplay is basically the same as it was 10 years ago. Unless things change and someone begins to make sophisticated sports games I doubt I will play much longer.....too many other things to do in this world.
Maybe I will come back to them later in life.Comment

A-freaking-men! I'm 32 years old with a wife, two little boys and a girl on the way with a busy career...yada, yada, yada. TV is awful right now. I watch a few shows with my wife and some movies here and there, but most of my nights (when the kids are in bed and I hang with the Mrs.) I spent gaming or watching sports.
I am more into gaming now that I was 15 years ago. I think I'll be gaming forever and my kids will get into as time goes on. Heck, my 2 year old thinks he's Lars on the drums on Rock Band
My favorite game has been a letdown lately (NCAA Football), but there have been other games that have kept me on the sticks."Hard work beats talent, when talent isn't working hard.”Comment

Re: Extended Gaming
I'll never stop, no way. Been addicted to video games since I was a kid and there is no way that's going to stop - esp since I tried earlier this year. It's hopeless."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

When I think about all the other things I could be doing if I was not gaming. Gaming becomes not so expensive for me. Peace!!! Plus the friendships you make even though you may never meet the fellow gamer in person is PRICELESS. Peace!!! AgainThe poster formerly know as "FLIGHTWHITE"Comment
