    PS3 Dvd display settings

Is there anyway to get the dvds to play in fullscreen without lowering the display settings to 480. If it plays in 720 or 1080 the dvds have the sidebars. I was just wondering because i'm getting tired of having to change the display settings when i want to watch a dvd. Thanks.

I'd help if I could, but mine all play in fullscreen just fine, upscaled or not. I can read off my video settings, maybe that'll help - I use HDMI, btw...

      BD/DVD Cinema Conversion - Auto
DVD Wide Display - Pan and Scan (says it only affects 4:3 TV's anyway)
      BD/DVD Upscaler - Normal (upscales to 1080p)
BD/DVD Video Output Format (HDMI) - RGB

      The rest below are sound.

Sorry I'm not of much help, but the only things I get sidebars on are PS2 games and some of the downloadable ones (MM9, for example).

        Thanks,

        I'll check this out

Got it, the upscaler on mine had to be turned from normal to full screen. Thanks
