Okay...bottom line on XBL for XBox1 and the 360

I've searched around and can't find the absolute answer on this. We have a 360 account and was wondering if it's interchangeable with our XBox1. Anyone have the final answer on this one and if it is possible how I would interchange them?

When I still had the XBOX I was able to go between it and the 360 with my LIVE account with no issues.

Still not working. When I do an account recovery, it's asking for the last 4 digits of the credit card I used when I first signed in. Then it hangs for a while and asking and indicates there's technical difficulties. I can't get past any option where it asks for a credit card. I don't recall using a credit card to set up XBL for the 360, do any of you?

      Edit: nm, it's not possible.

SO they stopped supporting original XBOX on LIVE?

Last year I was able to sign on to xbox live on the old xbox or xbox 360 live with the same account (just not at the same time).

I would understand it not being at the same time.... only makes sense. But, this is like I pay for cable and it only works on one kind of TV. M$ bites it in this case.

I don't think it's MS, Like I said when I had my XBOX1 I easily switched between the 2. Did you see somewhere that stated they changed that and you can't go between XBOX1 and the 360 anymore? Maybe due to all the new updates the 360 has it can't be migrated back to the original system....if it's that then I can understand it could have many issues with it being switched back over to XBOX1.

Well, #1 I can't get past the credit card thing. I didn't use a credit card to get XBL for the 360, just the XBL card with code. And we're talking about tapping into their servers, not gain access to the features of the system above it. I can DL any number of free server programs for my PC and play PC games with whoever has a comparable program.... so why should this be any different. #2, I've been reading some miscellaneous website comments with people having the same results and others saying it's just no longer possible. In your case it could have been that you had some time left on your XBL for XBox1. They can make games backwards compat., they should be able to have XBL1 accept your code # to simply get into that server at the very least.

What game do you want to play on XB1 and Live? Just wondering? I haven't thought about playing a Xbox game in ages, let alone on Live. And if I did it'd be BC and I'd play it on my 360...

Only a few. I wanted to see if NFL2K5 and MVP06 were still online. I tried the Splinter Cell games BC for the 360 online but no one seems to be around with those. My understanding is that Halo2, though I don't even own it is still a hit, but then again you can get the server programs and play that through your cpu. It's ashame that some of these games are not "system link" compatible so that you can use those programs for the pc. Personally, the damn system is so old, why doesn't M$ just allow XBL for them as a friggin' perk.
