Need PS3 help!

Picked up a PS3 tonight and a copy of MLB 08 The Show, anyway I'm wanting to play it but I keep trying to and it says that an update needs to be downloaded and installed.

So I download and it stops at 4% everytime and gives me this error:

An error occurred during the download operation. (80710723)

I really want to play some Show but this is a frustrating start to my PS3 ownership, anyone know whats going on and how I can get the update installed without getting this error, tried googling but didn't come up with any concrete answers.

After giving up for a while I tried again and it finally went through, much happier now!

For future reference,you can download the update online and put it on a USB drive and then update the PS3 through that if you have any more trouble.

Another question for you, does your PS3 ever seem to run kind of loud when you have a disc in the tray? While playing The Show last night I noticed it a few times making almost a clicking type noise, sort of like you could actually hear the disc spinning, then it would stop for a little and start back up, just off and on.

Not at all,so quiet it could run a library. The only time there's been some odd noise out of it was initial boot on some PS2 games but other than that it's been fine.

Wonder if there is something wrong with mine, I only have 1 game currently but I bought a couple Bluray's, guess I'll try them tomorrow and see if maybe its just having an issue with The Show.

Upon further review it appears to just be something with The Show (possibly games in general) the Bluray's I tried all ran extremely quiet, but The Show is currently the only PS3 game I own, it tends to run loud off and on but its nothing crazy, its tolerable just wasn't sure why it was doing it, but as long as everything else is running silently I'd guess its normal.
