PS3 Will not start up - please help

Tried to start my 60GB PS3 this morning and the light goes green then quickly yellow and then beeps 3 times and then flashes red.

I check the Sony site and they mention something about cooling but the machine was off all night.

I usually leave the main power switch in the back on (red light).

Anyone know the Sony Phone No.?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Do a search on you tube and the net and I'm sue there maybe some things you can try.

I thought the yellow to red was a HDD failure.

Like FF said, I'm pretty sure there's quick fixes out there to fix it.

Going back to Sony for service - $150 (I am 7 months out of warranty).

I guess I should have gotten the BB Extended Warranty.

I guess Best Buy has also changed their warranty now, It's not a swap out anymore, they send it to Geek Squad warehouse as they call it and they try to fix your system. Altimus was also telling me about this the other day with the 360 returns @ BB. I inquired about the PS3 and it was the same.

Yeah its me. Trying to catch up to Altimus and Braves. Seriously, had to create a primary PSN acct. since my secondary couldn't access HOME due to age restriction, so changed my id here, PSN, and XBL to be the same. hahahhaha

With BB only sending off the systems to be looked at WHY would you want Geek Squad to look at your system? Just pay the money for Sony to do their thing right.
