Of picking up a 360, becasue almost all of my friends have that system and not the PS3(which I have currently). Is the $199 version worth getting?

Arcade 360's are great, just as long as you have a harddrive deal to go with it.

I had a 120 gig already so now I have HDMI and the 120 instead of using my old one.

i say dont do it... freakin 360's are more of a headache than anything... I have both and mt 360 collects dust now that the latest problem has arisen where I cant connect to my live account..

I say do it mainly because my launch 360 is going fine. I've only had 1 problem and it was fixed and back to me in less than 2 weeks. Not bad for a launch system. Until recently the PS3 was a super duper dust collector except for playing bluray. Now with Valkyria and soon to be MLB The Show it will get more time.
LIVE also kills PSN still, for me anyways. But then again PSN is free, so.

Anyways do what YOU want to do. They both have good and bad. I'm sure if I was someone on my 3rd , 4th etc system then I might say differently but the 360 has been a great system for me by far.

I don't think he asked for a comparison of PS3/360, just if the $199 model was worth getting. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I would say no, it's not worth it. Look for a deal for the pro. For about $60 more you can get a 60 GB hard drive and enjoy the 360 for all it is worth. Just remember to factor in the yearly expense to play with friends ($50) and anything else you may need.

The 360 is a nice system. Just factor in the possible headaches beforehand and be prepared for them in advance.

I agree that you should get something your friends all have. But like Pared, I think you will want to step up the the 60GB version. Eventually, you will need something bigger than the 20GB anyway.

Hey Genecyst, how do I go about getting the HardDrive from Microsoft for $20? That's probably what I'll wind up doing. 20GB is enough for me, I just really want the XBOX exclusives along with Live so I can play with all of my friends.

This is the main reason xbox sells, "my freinds have it" If PS3 came out first xbox wouldnt survive much longer at all...
