Same here, nearly 60 games into a franchise and Ive only unlocked 3 trophies, walk off win, hit a grand slam and walk off homerun and thats it. Both of the walkoff trophies I just got within the last few days so I went quite awhile with only 1 trophy on The Show, if it wasnt for a quick run through on Quantum of Solace I wouldnt have moved at all last week or this week.

Congrats guys on the Plats. Spencer, thanks as always on the update. The pace that Squeaky is on, I'll probably lose 1st place after this week. LOL!Comment

Re: The Official OS PS3 Trophy Collectors Thread

Thanks all. And congrats to Gears. I don't know what you're talking about, as you're the one who hopped above Kev and myself in the last two weeks... I think you're the guy to beat now in the next month.

But let me rant for a few minutes.

I'm making my next Platinum run on Dead Space, as I just need to finish the game up on it's hardest difficulty setting... The way the difficulty is ratcheted up in "Impossible" mode is my biggest gaming pet peeve when it comes to 1st or 3rd person shooters: it takes more shots than in normal mode to take down an enemy...

This wasn't much of the case in Resident Evil 5's Professional mode (at least it didn't seem obviously so), and it's not present in the CoD series of games on Veteran mode... However, the ol' GoldenEye on the N64 did this on 00 Agent mode and now Dead Space relies on it on Impossible... The difference in DS is that the most efficent way to kill enemies is to chop off three of their four limbs. This wouldn't be a problem but limbs needs to be shot about an extra three times PER limb for it to sever off in Impossible mode, as opposed to just one shot per limb in Normal mode. That's like having to get 6 headshots on one goofy looking military soldier in GE. Now imagine four or five creepy looking, blood thirsty enemies with sharp knives as hands just harassing you from all directions and you only have 6 shots. What do you do? You hide in the corner and you crap your pants as you run out of ammo, that's what you do. UGGGH.

I perfer the CoD difficulty, where it takes just the same amount of shots to take down someone across all difficutly levels... I don't care about the AI's increased accuracy, I don't care about the human player's lack of hit points, and I don't care about the lack of ammo pickups. I just don't think that it feels right to see an enemy continue to fight after a point blank explosion from a grenade and a headshot, ya know?

For the guys who finished Uncharted in Crushing mode, was it like this? Or did the number of shots to take down a guy still seem the same throughout all difficutly levels?Comment

I'm only a few levels in on Hard after beating it on normal, but so far it does seem like it takes slightly more to kill an enemy.Green Bay Packers | Milwaukee Brewers | Bradley Braves | Wisconsin Badgers

Re: The Official OS PS3 Trophy Collectors Thread

Yes, It does take more bodyshots (head is still a one-shot unless they're wearing helmets, and it's key to beating crushing).

On the other hand, it takes way less to kill you...about 3 good normal pistol shots and it's bye bye Drake. Close range Shotguns and .44 are guaranteed one-shotters against you.

The worst thing though is that they get GOOD at flanking you. If you stay in one place for cover too long, you're dead meat because at least one of them WILL get behind you.Comment

Thanks Spencer. I know where you are coming from. I was going to try and platinum Dead Space, but decided against it for now. Having played through the game almost 2 times, I was burned out. I understand where you are coming from with difficulty ramping up in the wrong way with some games. Thanks all. And congrats to Gears. Re: The Official OS PS3 Trophy Collectors Thread

Spencer, I just wanted to let you know that I'm not usually that awful at Rock Band. I'm at home instead of at my apartment for a few days and we have a GH: WT drumset here instead of my usual RB set. It's somewhat awkward to use their pad arrangement with RB, but the worst part is the bass pedal - I can't stand it. Didn't help that I was trying to play a little quieter because my parents are sleeping.

So yeah... I don't usually get a 76% on Hello There, lol. We should work on some of the challenges again sometime. Also, I'm not sure if you get the trophies for doing the challenges as a member of my band, but if you don't I'd be happy to return the favor for you. Eventually, I may also need a second expert player to help me go for Endless Setlist 2, but I don't want to think about that yet...Green Bay Packers | Milwaukee Brewers | Bradley Braves | Wisconsin Badgers

I figured something was up when you said you could do drums on expert than proceeded to nearly fail out right at the beginning of the first song we played.Spencer, I'm not usually that bad at Rock Band.
