Re: The Official OS PS3 Trophy Collectors Thread
I like it a lot but the first couple times I fired up the game I was having some big problems with the controls and got kinda frusterated. I'm still not near perfect with them, my landings are usually sketchy and you need perfect ones for good points, but I'm getting more comfortable. I'm not to the point of racking up major points yet, but at least I don't crash as much LOL.
The mountains in the game are fantastic, which is good because there are only 4 (5 if you have the Target edition like I do). The mountains are huge and you don't go down the mountain the same way each time unless you are determined to do so, even then I don't know if it is possible.
I've yet to really do the competitions in the game, I've just been doing Shaun's Quest which is a coin hunting mission. You have to find like 48 coins over the 4 mountains which is pretty fun to me. The first 12 are easy because it is just finding them, but then the next 36 you have to use your Focus powers to get which is busting through stuff, going real fast, and jumping real high so getting them is tougher. I have 9 more to find using the Big Air power. Last night I did some trophy hunting since I'm more familiar with the mountains and controls.
Soon I'll start doing the competitions which will show me really where I stand in terms of how well I'm playing.
You get a trophy for uploading a vid, so I uploaded one last night, here it is (it's nothing special):

One day I'm going to do a Crushing run on that game to get the platinum. Probably around the time part 2 comes out.

When you play on Crushing, you might as well just adjust your TV to black and white because that is pretty much all you'll be seeing.Comment

Re: The Official OS PS3 Trophy Collectors Thread
I'm scared to play Uncharted on Crushing. I'll have to duct tape the controller to my hand so I can't throw it though the TV screen.
OK, I'm looking for some feedback about how we should do the rankings. Here are some options, let me know which one(s) you like best:
1. By Total Trophies. Pretty self explanitory. The rankings would be sorted by who has earned the greatest number of trophies, disregarding whether they are bronze, silver, gold, or platinum.
2. A Points System. In order to take into consideration what grade of trophies you've earned, we could assign a point value to each trophy level (bronze, sliver, gold, platinum). For example, 1-2-3-5, 1-3-5-10, etc.
3. The PSN-Designated Trophy Level. What I mean by this is the Trophy Level given on your PSN card, where there is a number followed by a percentage. This might be similar to the Points System option described above.
Any other ideas/suggestions for our ranking system? Please let me know.Ryan Spencer

Re: The Official OS PS3 Trophy Collectors Thread
yeah I think option 2 and 3 are the same thing. Your level and percentage on your PS3 account is the point system for the trophies. Bronzes add like 1% to your overall rating each time you get one. I think you should rank them both ways, one by total number of trophies and then one for trophy level which is decided by their level plus their % towards the next level.Go Yankees

Re: The Official OS PS3 Trophy Collectors Thread
There's actually a point system behind it, here it is:
Bronze Trophy: 15 points
Silver Trophy: 30 points
Gold Trophy: 90 points
Platinum Trophy: 180 points
Level 1 - 0 pts
Level 2 - 200 pts
Level 3 - 600 pts
Level 4 - 1200 pts
Level 5 - 2400 pts
Level 6 - 4000 pts
Level 7 - 6000 pts
Level 8 - 8000 pts
Level 9 - 10000 pts
Level 10 - 12000 pts
Level 11 - 14000 pts
Level 12 - 16000 pt
Level 13 - 24000 pts
Level 14 - 32000 pts
I got that from a FAQ on the playstation boards.

Re: The Official OS PS3 Trophy Collectors Thread
Thanks for posting that Kev, I didn't know how the system worked until now.
I guess I'll just post rankings using total trophies AND using the PSN trophy level system. I'll probably also post some other stuff as well (the number of games each user has where they have the highest trophy completion % of those in the competition, some graphs after we get a couple weeks under our belt, etc.)Ryan Spencer

Re: The Official OS PS3 Trophy Collectors Thread
Sounds like a good plan to me. I was going to suggest pretty much the same thing. Just go by level then percent to next level or number of trophies.
I'm becoming more and more mindful of trophies. This thread is not going to help that. I'm starting to have a hard time playing games that don't have trophies now. Been playing a lot of resistance and burnout.Comment
