It's another dimension (literally). It allows immersion as you get a truer grasp of what is closer to you and what is further. It is the next step towards paralleling the games we play with the real world. It's the same kind of immersion that we endure while playing an FPS instead of a 3PS or using a motion-sensor controller. It's just another way to try and mimic reality.

I don't know how it adds "interactivity," but you can't say that it's not an advancement, or upgrade, if you will.

the same way that graphics and sound add to the experience, it's another dimension and greatly increases the fun and realism factor.

Adding interactivity and immersion are two completely different things.

Unless this affects gameplay again, it's nothing more than a visual trick.

Blzer, comparing this to higher resolution textures and the like doesn't work here. If anything, you're proving my point more than Odogg's.

This is no different than watching a movie with 3d glasses on. If fools your brain into thinking what you are seeing had more depth to it, but it's not different than what you are already playing right now.

Believe it or not, the VirtualBoy had more substance than what this appears to do. Yes, I said it; The VirtualBoy. Games actually took into account that extra plane you thought you were viewing.

Well, I will have to play the games before I knock the idea. Granted it would not work for every title, but I would really like to try Motorstorm: Pacific Rift in 3D. Game is incredible as it is.

But, it does sound scarily gimmicky.

Have you played Little Big Planet? I would say that is pretty damn close to anything I've seen in terms of art and texture quality.

Well Sony didn't release LBP for the PS2 (which was what I was talking about).
