I recently bought a 1080p TV and the 360 is hooked up to it and when I went into settings to set the system to 1080p the tv received no signal. Does anyone know what could cause this?

What cable do you use to hook-up to the TV:

Component, HDMI or VGA?

you need HDMI cable for most tv's to do 1080p. Only a few can do 1080p over component cables.

Also, some cables have a switch built into them for switching back and forth between standard and hi-def.

And it doesn't look near as good as it does through HDMI.

I think a VGA calbe will get you 1080p too.
