Wii? PC? or one of the other options?
I doubt my PS3 will be fixed, sure the 360 broke all those times but after this I now realize the fact I'm about to be on #7 also means they were willing to replace it 6 times (though I had to complain quite a bit one of the times). So I was wondering what I should do with all the extra credit or cash I'll have from trading in/selling all my PS3 games cause that's not looking good,I'm leaning towards the 360 game option but was curious what other people think.14Buy a gaming PC0%8Buy a Wii0%0Put it towards 360 games/replace multiplatform games0%4Get a stand alone Blu-ray player0%1Other0%1Tags: None -

I am confused, are you keeping the 360 and selling the PS3?Originally posted by gohI doubt my PS3 will be fixed, sure the 360 broke all those times but after this I now realize the fact I'm about to be on #7 also means they were willing to replace it 6 times (though I had to complain quite a bit one of the times). Re: Wii? PC? or one of the other options?
I'm probably not doing anything with the PS3. It's broke. They're not fixing it. I have no way to get them the money to fix it. They gave me another number to call to see if they'd do anything but it's not likely, they were closed when I called. In the very likely event that fails I'm not going to have much use for all these games. My 360 I get back will not be broken (well not untill I update it 5 minutes after getting it anyway
) so yes the logical conclusion would be to keep the currently working but likely to fail again 360 and at the very least it'd be the 7th so I'd have a better case in getting it fixed.
I personally looked up implied warranty, wich I expected to be looking up for the 360 eventually and while it certianly doesn't "reasonably conform to an ordinary buyer's expectations" I'm not sure that law actually applies to a PS3.
And yes I'm well aware of the irony of all the crap I give MS about systems breaking and wanting to have sold off the 360 numerous times. Along with the irony of originally having no intent of getting a PS3 due to PS2 problems and not having any with the original Xbox.Last edited by goh; 02-11-2009, 12:06 AM.Comment

Re: Wii? PC? or one of the other options?
Build a gaming/HTPC PC. You can make one for ~$500-600 with a decent processor and vid card (no monitor cuz I'm assuming you have HDMI connection to your TV).
Case: $60
Mobo: $100
CPU: $100-150
Vid Card: $100-150
PSU: $50 (or free if you get a case/psu combo)
RAM: 2gb: $20, 4gb: $40
Kb/mouse: $10 (or free if you can part from a previous computer)
HDD: $60
Optical Drive: $90 for a bluray drive
Always check www.slickdeals.net for the latest and greatest. I recently built an HTPC with a dual bluray/hd dvd drive, on board HDMI out, and a Phenom X4 9950 processor with all the trimmings except for a vid card for ~$400.Comment

Re: Wii? PC? or one of the other options?
I would say if your done with your PS3 and feel that you will never want to play anything on the PS3 again you might as well put it towards the 360.
I wouldnt put it towards a pc because it goes obsolete quickly. Atleast with 360 stuff you can resell.Comment

With your history and luck, I voted put it towards a gaming PC. Then you can only blame yourself when it blows up!
just kidding.

Yellow Light of Death.
Not my vid but here's what happens:
<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/j1ymLnJQP8M&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/j1ymLnJQP8M&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
I'd take it to a local computer store actually.

Hmm...I know I posted in the other thread that what you were getting sounded similar to mine, but I didn't get the YLOD. Although I agree that it seems to be happening more and more, according to the official PS3 board.Yellow Light of Death.

Re: Wii? PC? or one of the other options?
I had enough for replacements with almost enough left over for the Wii and that's just from what I traded in today. Didn't do anything else yet other than the replacements as I'm still waiting for my complaint to be responded to. Also ended up with 8 entries in the $500 gift card thing they do there and only 70 people entered to this point wich of course makes the whole thing come full circle should I win, well -$50 I guess but still close. I was hoping to hang onto games this gen.
