    PS3... backwards compatibility???

    I wanna buy Victorious Boxers 2 (made for japanese ps2 consoles), however i don't have a ps2 anymore.

    Is the ps3 backwards compatible? If so, can you play any ps2 games on it or is it limited to certain games.

    I'm debating buying an old ps2 or buying a ps3. (p.s. I already own a 360 and I'm satisfied with it at the moment).

      i think the 60 gig ps3's are like 99% compatible with all ps games

          You're going to need a modded or Japanese PS2 or Japanese PS3 to play that. The region freeness only applies to PS3 games,not PS2.
