    Which PS3 bundle?

okay, i'll get this out the way- i am an official Sony Playstation virgin. I grew up playing every nintendo and then got into xbox, and now the 360 (which has died only twice on me, lol).

anyways, i think i am finally ready to get a PS3. many reasons but mainly the show, killzone, metal gear solid, and blu-ray.. and i'm sick of praying for a price drop so there is no better time than now.. baseball season starting has been a real motivator.. so has mlb 2k9 for 360 (i'm not a fan).

question is this: which PS3 should i get? Target is offering a 80gig PS3 with Resistance (the first one) and Motorstorm (the first one) for $399. Or, I could splurge a little for the 160gig and it comes with Drake's Fortune (which I read was pretty sweet), but that's $100 extra, at $499.

So is the extra 80 gig worth it? Will i regret getting the 80? Also, are All games loaded on the harddrive on the PS3? And how much space does a PS3 game take? I know on 360 they are about 5-6gigs each. I just don't know much about PS3s yet.. I am not concerned with backwards compatability at all because I have not owned any playstation systems or games.

thanks in advance.. can't wait to get going with The Show

Short answer: get the 80 gig bundle.

long answer: you should be able to get Drakes fortune used for relatively cheap and the cool thing with the ps3 is you can put in any 2.5 inch sata laptop hard drive in that thing if you want. It does not void the warranty and their are plenty of videos on you tube on how to do that.

Sears still has the MGS4 bundle. I was going to get that one myself but decided against it after Altimus said the newer PS3's have cooler chips.

Yeah I read some bad things about those MGS PS3s getting really loud and having cooling issues. Although I'm sure it is some what isolated, the newer ones run cooler.

Yeah it's all good. The hard drive size doesn't matter too much to me. I've got a what, 20 gig on my 260 and never filled it up. The decision saved me some money, I can get MGS4 new for 39 bucks.

Just don't get a 40 GB. I'm optimizing for space daily, and I'm not a guy with 10+ games in my library. Files and installs add up, that's all I'm saying.
