Questions on the Xbox Ally handhelds? Ask me about it

I've spent the last 9 months acting as the "general contractor" on the Xbox Ally devices: connecting Windows, Xbox, and ASUS to make a new Windows gaming handheld that's made by ASUS, but powered by Xbox.

Just like I did 12 years ago with OneGuide, HDMI-in, IR blasting, and Live TV on Xbox One, I wanted to provide a place for the OS community to ask me questions, let me know about bugs, or rant and rave.

So what questions do you have? What can I help with?

And I'm sharing this long form video about the making of the device (it's more marketing than documentary) mainly because I want to give kudos to 2 people that show up multiple times in the video: Casey Bates and Dom Gordon. They have been my 2 closest partners the last 9 months and they are so awesome to work with. They're amazing and have worked hard to make this device and experience as good as we can.

      1. What if you already own a ROG Ally X, will it get a software update to run like the new system or do people have to buy the new system to get the benefits ?

      2. Is it Xbox complete library or Xbox Windows library of games. For example, can I play College Football 26 on it ?

1 - Yes, some, but not all of the software upgrades will be made available on the existing Ally devices. When those get made available to existing devices, I can try to remember to post here. It will likely come in 2+ waves.

2 - It's a Windows device. So it's games that are installable on Windows, but you may be able to play other games via Remote Play or Cloud Gaming. For instance, I played a lot of EACFB25 on my Ally via Remote Play.

This is what I wanted window devices to be, have a handheld software. I have the first gen MSI Claw and its pretty solid handheld but man is it a pain to have windows 11 on it. Steam Deck is way better experience.

I wished that xbox would just make its software available to all windows handhelds like what Steam OS will be doing. Over 900 bucks for the nice version is gonna be a tough pill to swallow for most people though.

I think all of your points are great.
