Re: PS3 Repair and/or Death Thread
I just got a 250gb PS3 Slim yesterday @ Best Buy and it wasn't the 2100 series. Not too worried though as I did buy the protection plan to cover me so if something does happen, I can then get the 2100 series since they should be the only ones out on the shelves.Currently Playing:

Re: PS3 Repair and/or Death Thread
My PS3 crapped out on me last weekend. Just sent it in to be repaired yesterday.
Do these repairs actually work? Because from reading this thread, it seems that the common consensus is that most crap out again within a month of them getting fixed. If thats the case I'm just going to trade mine into gamestop or put it on Ebay and get a slim.
But if the repairs actually work, I wouldn't mind keeping my original."The academic support at Ohio State, there is no way you can fail. Even if you're giving minimal effort there is no way you can fail."

when i got mines back, it lasted exactly 1 year so you are good for a while. but when that time comes, think about trading it in before it craps out again. good luck!"on hoping there is a PSN flash sale before Valentine's Day"

Re: PS3 Repair and/or Death Thread
Guys..need some help.
Just turned on my ps3 (have not turned it on all day). It booted up fine, loaded up and as I was scrolling thru the XMB the system just froze, screen went black & then the system turned off and the red light just blinks.
Now, if I try to turn it back on...the sytem starts up, the light go's green but then the system beeps, light turns yellow & then red (when the system turns itself off).
Is my system dead ???
Has it just over heated ?? (I haven't turned it on all day, but my house is very humid inside)
Any help would be appreciated.Comment

Re: PS3 Repair and/or Death Thread
OK, question for the PS3 Slim owners: is it normal for the back of the console to be hot? I noticed this today after playing for 2 hours or so. The top of the console was barely warm, the game disc wasn't warm at all but the back of the console was hot.
I guess it's probably b/c the air vent isn't that large in the back. I don't have the system elevated (it's on my entertainment center with plenty of ventilation), but if that helps, I will prop it up.Currently Playing:

Re: PS3 Repair and/or Death Thread
Sony will charge you $150 to get back a refurbished one with your data gone. There are shops that can fix it for less, albeit temporary, and give you a chance to back your data up before it goes down again.Comment
