Re: PS3 Repair and/or Death Thread
Okay, problem!
So I formatted my HDD so that I could create a partition to install Linux. Now that I'm trying to restore my PS3 backup data, it has hit a hanging point. It's halted at 93% and 17 minutes left. The system isn't frozen, the controller still works and I'm sure I can cancel out, but what's the deal here? Is my backup data corrupted? Did I just wipe out all of my information with no possible way to get it back?
This is freaking me out right now!Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: PS3 Repair and/or Death Thread
Well, it looks like it started going again! I got scared for a second, it was stuck on 93% for about 40 minutes. Let's see if it finishes!

EDIT: Well, now it's hung up on 98%. I swear, if I can't get my data back I'll...Last edited by Blzer; 02-10-2010, 04:25 PM.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Nah, it allocated at least 320GB for the PS3 partition and I have about 150GB to back up.
Programming efficiency, assuming it's any good on here. I also want to use some emulations to try and play any old SNES and Genesis games.

Re: PS3 Repair and/or Death Thread
Oh no no no, I've done this before. In fact, I did it twice over winter break. The thing is though it never hangs like this. Normally it does its normal progression and stays en route with its going rate. But here it has said 98% and 3 minutes for about the past half hour now.

I'm just scared that I can't get my stuff back, especially considering how close it is to finishing.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: PS3 Repair and/or Death Thread
I napped for two hours, and woke up and it looks like it's good! It scared me a bit though, because my display and Internet stuff wasn't working but that's because this backup is from over winter break when I was on a 1080p TV and different connection, etc.
I'm still not positive everything is as should be though only because of those hangups, so I'll be investigating more just to be sure.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: PS3 Repair and/or Death Thread
No luck with the Tretton e-mail but I just let some call from Sony go.
It had a 415 area code and I didn't know what it was.I looked it up. Maybe they're finally doing something or maybe they got the e-mail and decided to do something.

Re: PS3 Repair and/or Death Thread
Thought this would be a good thread to ask this. My PS3 suddenly won't work with the usual tv when I turn it on all I get is a blank screen. When I tried on another tv it worked. Anybody know what I can do? I have tried to reset the settings but when i turn it on and let it beep twice nothing comes up still. I use a HDMI the only thing that changed was the directv box now uses the other one since I upgraded receivers, I used to have the directv box on components. Thanks in advanceComment
